Condev takes the cake at the annual Kokoda Challenge

Thousands of competitors flocked to Mudgeeraba last month to complete the Kokoda Challenge, proudly supported by Condev Construction. The annual event, now in its 13th year of operation, saw teams of four trek for 39 hours over 96km of Gold Coast hinterland – the same distance of the Kokoda Track in Papua New Guinea. The Challenge is the main fundraising event for Kokoda Youth Foundation, who facilitate a suite of youth programs in southeast Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

This year, Condev had 16 teams participate in the event, with over 20 more staff attending in support of the Condev competitors. The Condev women’s team in the 96km event took the win, while the Condev mixed team won the 52km event. This is the second year Condev has sponsored the Kokoda Challenge and they are already looking towards next year’s event in anticipation.

“The Kokoda Challenge is such a fantastic community event,” says Condev managing director Steve Marais.

“It was amazing to see the turn out this year, and we had record numbers of staff members participate – a number we’re hoping to top again next year.”

Condev’s valuable contribution helps to fund another generation of youth program participants in the Kokoda Challenge family.
